Tendering logistics services is usually time-consuming and involves a lot of work for freight owners – unless they are members of shiftX. Instead of putting each transport volume out to tender individually, our BCOs commit to contributing an annually renegotiated transport volume to the community. An arrangement that pays off for the companies in two ways: in addition to direct time and cost savings, they benefit from the improved conditions that we subsequently negotiate with shipping companies and other logistics service providers. A high degree of transparency is guaranteed at all times: shiftX members have full access to the relevant data of all service providers and can track shipment processes in detail.

Carrier Management
“Together we are stronger”: a guiding principle that also applies to the 50 or so network partners who handle transportation by land, sea, air and rail on our behalf. They are at the heart of shiftX carrier management, through which we guarantee the consistently high quality of the services provided. To this end, we select suitable carriers, conduct contract negotiations, support operational implementation and ensure compliance with legal regulations. The recording and analysis of key performance indicators also provide valuable information on central criteria such as capacity availability, flexibility, reliability and environmental compatibility of the transport processes.

Allocation Management
Goods and merchandise should be available at the right place at the right time. To achieve this, not only the logistics processes must function smoothly, but also the associated information chains. We use our Control Tower to inform our members continuously and in real time about important key figures and events during the shipment process. Thanks to the linking of data through intelligent processes and forecasting tools, companies are able to make decisions quickly and efficiently, even in the event of any disruptions in the supply chain, thus proactively supporting order processing. At the same time, strategic considerations can be re-evaluated and adapted to optimize supply chain performance in the long term.

In order to further advance the digitalization of the supply chain, shiftX not only uses innovative technologies in its operational implementation, but also develops its own digital solutions such as “No-Code”. The IT solution, which was developed together with the Hamburg-based company Logward, enables BCOs, carriers and other stakeholders to work together effectively and quickly in the areas of tender, allocation and transport management using a homogeneous data model on one and the same cloud platform. Users benefit from the ease of use, the high flexibility of the tool in a changing market environment, the lower operating costs and considerable time savings that “no-code” offers. The new technology does not compete with existing IT programs, but can be meaningfully embedded in the company’s digital structure.
